How to Stretch the Upper Trapezius (video)
This is a great stretch for anyone feeling tightness through their neck or shoulders. This may be an office worker, a tradie and/or parents carrying around their children.
INSTRUCTIONS
You should hold this stretch for 30-60 seconds and repeat on both sides. You can do this multiple times throughout the day. Sometimes it can help to set a timer on your computer or phone, or maybe do the stretch each time you boil the kettle.
When doing the stretch you should feel exactly that, a stretch. If pain is felt, ease off on the exercise and make sure you are performing it correctly with your physiotherapist.
If you find you need to do this stretch often, you may benefit from strengthening your upper trapezius muscle. Check out the video HERE.
