Cairns Ironman Triathlon Physio Coverage Bahrain Endurance 13
I recently ventured to Far North Queensland to provide physiotherapy services for 3 members of the freshly created Bahrain Endurance 13 professional Triathlon Team.
The team was created by His Highness Shaikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al Khalifa (the Prince of Bahrain) with the vision to promote human health and performance. The team boasts 13 of the world’s best champion triathletes including current World 70.3 and Ironman Champions Javier Gomez of Spain and Sebastian Kienle of Germany.
Bahrain Endurance 13 had three athletes competing across the Ironman Cairns weekend. The athletes were:
- Caroline Steffen (Switzerland) 70.3
- Sam Appleton (Australia) 70.3
- James Cunnama (South Africa) Ironman
It was a highly successful weekend of racing for the team with both Caroline Steffen and Sam Appleton producing dominant performances to comfortably win their 70.3 events. In the Ironman unfortunately James Cunnama had to withdraw due to illness at the end of the bike leg.
Images from the weekend are below, including meeting with His Highness and Bahrain Endurance 13 Team Founder Shaikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
A special congratulations to the many POGO Physio triathletes who raced across the weekend including: Sam Weir, Clint Kimmins, Tania Singer, and Colleen Crowley.
